Article 8: Business meetings

A. General Procedures

1. Parliamentary Procedure. Except where otherwise mandated by these bylaws, the latest edition of Robert's Rules of Order shall serve as the guideline for parliamentary procedure congregational meetings.

2. Quorum. The quorum for congregational meetings shall be one-third of the membership. 3. Fiscal Year. The fiscal year shall be from January I through December 31.

B. Congregational Meetings

1. The annual meeting is to be held in the month of January. · All officers are to prepare written reports outlining accomplishments, goals, and recommendations pertaining to their responsibility during the previous year. · The time and date of the all congregational meetings is to be publicized at least two weeks in advance through the bulletin, church calendar, or any other format available to church members. · Other Meetings The elders or administrative team may call special congregational meetings.

2. Elections - Church members attending the congregational meeting retain the privilege of adding candidates to the approved ballot. Members must consult with potential nominees and obtain their approval prior to the congregational meeting before making such nominations from the floor. - Voting Procedure: Votes shall be cast by ballot, unless otherwise directed by the voting members.

3. Tenure Newly elected officers shall begin their term immediately following the conclusion of the congregational meeting.
