Article 6: Officers

A. General Requirements

1. Eligibility The positions of Chairman, Vice-Chairman and Finance Team Team Leader are required to be members of the church. Membership is not required for the remainder of the officer positions.

2. Duties Their general responsibilities are outlined below.

3. Accountability a. Church officers are expected to work in cooperation with the elders, administrative team, staff and congregation to fulfill the mission of Faith Church. b. Accusations against the church officers shall not be considered unless submitted in writing to the elders and supported by two or three witnesses, in accordance with I Tim. 5:19-20. c. Should it be proven that an officer has erred in doctrine or conduct, he or she will be charitably admonished by the elders with the goal of restoration. If, in the opinion of the elders, an officer should be removed from office or membership, a resolution will be brought forward to the congregation. The officer will be dismissed immediately following the approval of a dismissal resolution by a 2/3 majority of the voting members.

B. Offices

1. Church Chairman

a. Responsibilities · The chairman will preside over the meetings of the: administrative team, ministries team, elders and the congregational meetings. · Work in cooperation with pastoral staff and leaders to carry out the mission of the church · Establish an agenda for all meetings. · In the absence of the pastor - manage the day to day church operations. b. Terms & Qualifications · The chairman will be nominated by the elders and approved by the congregation. · The chairman shall be elected to a three-year term at the annual meeting. · The chairman shall not serve more than two consecutive terms. · Any nominees for chairman must meet the qualifications for elder.

2. Vice Chairman a. Responsibilities · The vice-chairman will attend the scheduled meetings of the: administrative team, ministries team, elders and the congregational meetings · Work in cooperation with pastoral staff and leaders to carry out the mission of the church · Preside over meetings in the absence of the chairman. · Assume the duties of chairman if the chairman is unable to serve the remainder of a term. b. Terms & Qualifications · The vice-chairman will be nominated by the elders and approved by the congregation. · The vice-chairman shall not serve more than two consecutive terms. · The vice-chairman shall be elected to a three year position at the annual meeting. · Nominees for vice-chairman must meet the qualifications for elder.

3. Worship Team Leader a. Responsibilities · Work with pastoral staff to plan and conduct worship services. · Compose a team to accomplish the worship objectives of the church. · In cooperation with the administrative team develop an annual budget for the worship ministries of Faith Church b. Terms & Qualifications · The Worship Team Leader will be nominated by the elders and approved by the congregation. · Worship Team Leader will serve a three-year term with no limitation on the number of terms.

4. Finance Team leader a. Responsibilities · Develop and implement an annual budget supporting the ministries of Faith Church. · Receive, account and report all income and expenses monthly. · Monitor activity in all financial accounts. · Create annual report containing all financial transactions (income & expense). · Insure compliance with local, state and federal reporting requirements · Prepare information for the annual financial audit. · Non-budgeted spending limitations Expenses not included in the annual budget will require approval according to the following guidelines: $1 to $99 - approval of Finance Team Leader $100 to 10% of the annual church budget approval of administrative team. Greater than 10% of current church budget - congregational approval. b. Terms & Qualifications · The Finance Team Leader will be nominated by the elders and approved by the congregation. · Finance Team Leader will serve a three-year term with no limitation on the number of terms.

5. Christian Education Team leader a. Responsibilities · In cooperation with the administrative team develop an annual budget for the Christian Education ministries of Faith Church · Christian Education oversees the following areas: Sunday School, Childrens' Programs and Youth. · Recruit and train qualified leaders and teachers to develop, implement, and annually review programs to teach children, youth and adults about Christ, providing a supportive environment for accepting Christ as their personal Savior and continued spiritual growth. b. Terms & Qualifications · The Christian Education Team Leader will be nominated by the elders and approved by the congregation. · Christian Education Team Leader will serve a three-year term with no limitation on the number of terms.

6. Outreach Team Leader a. Responsibilities · In cooperation with the administrative team develop an annual budget for the outreach ministries of Faith Church. · Develop, implement, and annually review programs and special events to reach out to find those people who are seeking after God and introduce them to the biblical truth about Jesus Christ. · Assimilate new individuals and families into our church. · Compose a team to accomplish the outreach objectives of the church. · Develop communication between the church and supported missionaries or agencies. · Develop projects and programs for hands-on mission experiences for youth and adults. b. Terms & Qualifications · The Outreach Team Leader will be nominated by the elders and approved by the congregation. · Outreach Team Leader will serve a three-year term with no limitation on the number of terms.

7. Discipleship Team Leader a. Responsibilities · The Discipleship Team oversees the following areas: Small Groups, Women's' and Men's' Ministries. · In cooperation with the administrative team develop an annual budget for the discipleship ministries of Faith Church. · Develop, implement, and annually review programs and special events to foster spiritual maturity and depth. · Compose a team to accomplish the discipleship objectives of the church b. Terms & Qualifications · The discipleship Team Leader will be nominated by the elders and approved by the congregation. · Discipleship Team Leader will serve a three-year term with no limitation on the number of terms.

C. Organization of administrative & ministry teams.

1. Administrative Team

a . Members The administrative team is comprised of the pastor, church chairman, vice-chairman and finance team leader. b. General Responsibilities The administrative team areas of responsibility include: - oversee ministries & church life to insure actions are consistent with the mission of the church. - insuring goals and objectives are in place for ministry teams. - provide a system to evaluate ministries and insure results are being accomplished. - oversee financial systems & building usage. - The administrative team has the authority to decide routine issues between church business meetings and execute matters referred to it by the church. c. Meetings The administrative team will meet at least monthly.

2. Ministries Team a . Members The ministries team is comprised of the administrative team, church staff, elders and the following team leaders: Christian Education, Worship, Discipleship and Outreach. b. General Responsibilities The ministries team areas of responsibility include: - create teams to develop and enhance each area of ministry. - develop goals and objectives for the ministry teams. - create programs and events that are consistent with the mission of the church. - measure team progress against ministries goals to assure results are being accomplished. c. Meetings The ministries team will meet at least quarterly.

3.) Standing Committees The congregation or administrative team may appoint other committees, to carry out specific responsibilities of the church. Such committees may be created and disbanded as needed.
