Article 10: Amendments A . General Guidelines. Amendments to these by-laws may be proposed at any congregational business meeting of the church according to the procedure outlined below. B. Procedure 1. A motion describing any proposed bylaw amendment must be presented in writing at a congregational business meeting. At the meeting at which the motion is introduced, it cannot be approved for adoption. 2. At any subsequent congregational meeting scheduled at least 90 days and no longer than 120 days following the introduction of the proposed amendment, the proposed amendment can be brought from the table for further discussion, study, or a final vote. 3. In order to be ratified, a bylaw amendment must obtain approval by at least two-thirds of the votes cast. |
