The Grand Buffet

 

Proverbs 24:3-4 says " By wisdom a house is built, and through understanding it is established; through knowledge its rooms are filled with rare and beautiful treasures."

This verse was the theme for a very important part of our building program.   We needed additional funds to come in to supply such necessary items as:  a sound system, chairs, carpeting, landscaping, a kitchen stove . . . and the list goes on and on and on.

Through Gods' goodness and the generosity of many - we have been able to fill our church with many things that we have needed to be effective in our ministry.

One of the ways in which we have generated some additional funds for the 24:4 program is to host dinners after church.  About once a month a group of people cooked a "themed" meal.   We enjoyed:  German food, Italian, a wild game feed and a fresh fish dinner - just to name a few.

On Friday, March 19th, we celebrated the success with the Grand Buffet.  The multi-purpose room was converted into a banquet hall.  Women were dressed in their finery and tuxedos were sported by a few.  It was a fun and meaningful night to recognize the goodness of God.

The theme of the evening was "Who is On the Throne?"   The challenge was clearly given to:

    ask the question - who is on the throne of your life?

    who do you tap into for the power to live your life?

    and is it real in your life?
